What's Happening in the Seventh Grade?
Geography
Welcome to 7th Grade World Geography!
It's hard to believe that we are in the 4th quarter of the school year! I'm very impressed by this wonderful group of young people I get to serve each day and wish I could enjoy another year with them!
We are in the midst of a unit on Modern Europe (roughly 1500-present) and will be learning about a number of important events during that time period ranging from the Scientific & Industrial Revolutions, Ages of Enlightenment and Discovery as well as the conflicts of the 20th century and their impacts on the world we live in today. I am anticipating having our unit test around May 1st but your student will have a better idea of a date as we get closer to the middle of April.
Essential Question for our Modern Europe unit: Has Modern Europe's influence on the rest of the world been positive or negative?
As always, please reach out via email if you have any questions or concerns.
Outside Activities:
Looking for something to do outside of class? Students have a number of activities on Schoology that focus on our social studies vocabulary and work on their map skills. Students also have the Seterra App on their iPads that has a bunch of different interactive map games and activities they can work on too. You can also watch/read the news with your student and discuss things that are going on in the world.
